Thursday, June 27
- A family event, Raptor Recovery, will be held from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at the Elkhorn Branch Library, 2100 Reading Plaza. A Raptor Recovery educator will give participants a closer look at some of Nebraska's native raptors. Program is limited to the first 65 participants, on a first come, first serve basis. - A hydrant party will be held from 2 to 3 p.m. in the south parking lot of Bennington Elementary School, 11620 N. 156th Street.
- The Waterloo Public Library, 23704 Cedar Drive, will host a Family Night Event, Star Wars Night at the Library at 7 p.m. Bring your camera and take pictures with costumed Star Wars characters.

- The Waterloo Public Library, 23704 Cedar Drive, will host a "Senior Coffee" from 10 a.m. to noon. Anyone 55 or older is invited to stop by for coffee, goodies, games or a visit.

- A family event, Healthy Eating for Growing Bodies, will be held from 12 to 1:30 p.m. at the Elkhorn Branch Library, 2100 Reading Plaza. No Frills dietician Jennifer Meyer will present an interactive program for kids. Learn how to make healthy choices from the five food groups. Participants, who must be 11-19 years old (grades 6-12), will experiment with fingerprints and help solve a mystery by learning about fingerprints and other critical details at crime scenes. - The Christian Outreach Program-Elkhorn (COPE) is open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., and Thursday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the basement of Community of Grace Church, 3434 N. 204th Street in Elkhorn, offering assistance to low-income familes in Western Douglas County and accepting donations.
