The Class B preseason rated No.7 Gretna boys soccer team opened their season with a statement win on Saturday, March 17. The Dragons played host to No.10 Columbus Scotus and dominate proceedings.

Gretna took control from the get go with 4 first half goal. This quickly snowballed in the second half as Gretna mercy ruled the No.10 Shamrocks scoring 6 goals for the 10-0 win.

Gretna was led by Nathan Fibich who scored 2 goals and had 1 assists. Jed Merriman added 2 goals, Ben Bickel and Jake Cover both had 1 goal and 2 assists, Hector Zapata and Kortlan Franke both had 1 goal and 1 assist, and Zac Voss had 1 goal. The Drag- ons improved to 1-0 on the year.
