During a week where the weather cancelled almost every- thing the No.8 rated Gretna boys soccer team was able to squeeze in two games. The first game came on Monday, April 2 as the Knights traveled to Mount Michael to take on a tough Knights team who’s only losses have come at the hands of ranked teams.

The game was close early with both teams able to find the back of the net for a 1-1 half- time score. This deadlock remained after the second 40 had passed sending the game into overtime. It was in the first overtime period that the Drag- ons were able to finish and find the game winner for the 2-1 road win.

Gretna won the corner battled with 10 corners to just 5 for Mount Michael. Jake Cover scored both Gretna goals with assists from Kortlan Franke and Tanner Powell.

The Dragons finished up the week with another road game traveling north to Bennington on Thursday, April 5 to take on the Badgers.

Gretna took control early with a 3-0 halftime lead, and then won a high scoring second half for a7- 2 victory.

Ben Bickel led Gretna with 2 goals and 1 assist, Kortlan Franke had 1 goal and 2 assists, Jake Cover had 1 goal and 1 assist, Tanner Powell, Zac Voss, and Patrick Long each had 1 goal, and John Cover had 1 assist.

Gretna is now 4-1 on the year.
